Statistician
Overview
Nexius has the need for a statistician that can help enhance Nexius product offerings by designing intelligent algorithms capable of evaluating massive amounts of telecommunications data (engineering, sales and marketing, …) to derive useful information to assist operators issue identification, problem resolution, customer retention, etc.
This individual will use predictive modeling, multivariate statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to model and assess issues in a communications network. The statistician will develop multivariate models for accurately identifying and predicting the source of issues (network or terminal equipment), and identifying trends to predict and avoid future issues. The individual will be a member of the product management group, helping to evolve, grow and enhance Nexius’ suite of software solutions.
Experience
- 5+ years developing predictive models and performing statistical analysis
Skills
- Experience working with large datasets, including internal and external data, data mining, multivariate model building, and advanced statistical techniques
- Experience developing complex predictive models for failure analysis, actuarial forecasting, or equivalent type of application
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills – ability to communicate advanced statistical concepts to a diverse group of individuals with varying degrees of mathematical background
- Ability to work quickly and meet critical deadlines
- Knowledge of telecommunications networks and wireless communications is a plus, but not required
Education
- Masters Degree/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or other related field
